Santiesteban's clean strokes are in direct contrast with the amorphous figures in most of his paintings. His color technique is a masterful fading of one color to another creating exquisite backgrounds and giving life to otherwise dull forms. There is a salient transition between the reality of his background and the blurry fiction of his forms.

City Lights is a series which places emphasis on giving back to the community. The bright, dense pallet of colors is a reminder of the beautiful power of a resilient, strong community.

His Portrait Series emphasizes the disillusion and decadence, but also the nobility of the human condition. The images retain vestiges of expressionist exaggeration and distortion often displaying both psychological intensity and social satire.

In September 2011, Santiesteban’s work was illustrated on the cover page of Private Equity International, a globally distributed magazine that has selected some of AOTA’ extraordinary artists to grid its 20.000 high end subscribers.
