Moving out from her South Korean hometown in Busan to study in Seoul, Young Ji graduated with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in fine arts from Hong-Ik University.

 

She has won various prizes during the past few years, in events such as the Seoul Art Exhibition, Seoul Fine Art Association, and Art Fair Dan-Won. Since 2008, Young Ji has continued to exhibit her work every year; the most recent being in Bangkok, Thailand.

 

The artist decided to move to Bangkok in 2012 after being inspired by a visit to the mountainous areas of Wang Nam Keaw district and getting to know a joyful group of swing dancers in Bangkok. Thailand’s tropical nature as well as the people she met gave her a different energy to continue her work in art. Now based in Bangkok, Young Ji is presenting her first solo exhibition at Chamchuri Art Gallery from March 17th till April 19th, 2015. Her exhibition is titled, “Truthful Energy”.
