DENISE PETIT

Petit Caplan’s classical artistic training, multicultural exposure and decorative textile experience harmoniously blend into a broad spectrum of mediums and dynamic layers of her work, which range from representational/realist to multi-media abstract contemporary.

After many years of international training in Universities in Chile, Spain and the USA, and enjoying a very successful career in Decorative Textiles, Ms. Petit Caplan began to focus on her fine art, producing work of skilled clarity and complexity that reflect her experience.

Ms. Petit Caplan has exhibited in the Chelsea Art District, in New York City, to nearly sell out success. Most recently, in conjunction with her solo exhibition in June 2010, The New York Times selected her work as the only image to publish in their Sunday listings.

Born in Santiago, Chile, Ms. Petit Caplan began to travel extensively at the age of 17 while living in Madrid, Spain and presently, in New York, USA.

Her work is in numerous private collections and can be seen at Flat Iron Gallery, Peekskill, NY,  Nassau County Museum, NY, The Green Room Gallery, The DIB Gallery and the Katonah Museum.
